Rhwng y creigiau gwyrdd (Amongst
the green rocks) - I ventured away from my monochrome palette
of greys and black for this print of one of my favourite sections
of Afon Caseg and am more than pleased with the result ... it felt
right at almost every stage and the final piece says what I want
it to say. Compared to the previous print (Y
Graig) which is quite detailed, I appear to have re-captured
my former 'chunkier' style, which I first used in with intent in
Syrthio, syrthio. This simpler mark-making
(along with the palette of greens), creates for me, a more expressive
image and one which evokes the mossy, damp river boulders better
than the earlier greys.
