Cwm Perfedd - Driving
up the Ogwen Valley just a mile or so the other side of Bethesda,
glance right and you'll see Cwm Perfedd with Mynydd Perfedd towering
above. Sometimes the waterfall is no more than a trickle but after
heavy rain, it's a distinct white streak, bending one way, then
the other down the hillside towards Maes Caradoc farm in the valley
bottom. I wanted to keep this linocut as 'simple' as possible, focusing
on the elements which make it instantly recognisable. In a way,
this is more challenging that my more complex work because each
mark has to work hard earn its place in the composition and there
is very little room for error or sloppiness.
