Gwely'r Afon (River bed) - High above the Conwy Valley lies this stretch of the rocky river bed of Afon Porth Llwyd (River of the grey gate), whose source is located higher still in the Carneddau range.

On a scorching, sunny day last August a friend and I spent a day drawing, I found this spot, perched myself on a rock, and drew this scene in brush and ink.

Back in the studio, the A2 drawing was reduced in size and transferred to lino.
