Sheepish - I rarely work solely from photographs but "Sheepish" is a rare instance of a print which arose directly from an image which caught my eye in an old magazine. There was something about this Cotswold sheep which made me smile. Perhaps it was the unkempt hairdo or that nice but dim grin ... whatever it was, I immediately wanted to draw him (or her?) to try and capture that look. I drew straight onto the lino rather so that the drawing was as spontaneous as possible.
